Monday 15th March, 2004
The 2004 National Superstock Championship has attracted a massive entry. This has resulted in the championship organisers announcing today the creation of a subsidiary Series to support the main National Championship.
The Series to be known as the National Superstock "Shoot-Out" Series will be open automatically to riders who qualify outside of the number of riders permitted to start the main championship race following the results of Superstock qualifying practice, which will be held in two groups. Each group will have one free practice and two qualifying practice sessions.
The Superstock "Shoot-Out" race will be of at least three quarters distance of the duration of the main championship race and will take place where possible on the main BSB raceday.
The first two-finishers in the Superstock "Shoot-Out" race will be eligible to take part in the main championship race.
Trophies will be awarded to the first three finishers of the Superstock "Shoot-Out" race.
Championship points will also be awarded to find an overall Superstock "Shoot-Out" Series winner.
The Superstock "Shoot-Out" Series winner will receive an end of season award.
As a further incentive and boost to the Superstock category, Suzuki GB have announced that the National Superstock Championship will be the EXCLUSIVE championship to determine the UK participation in the 2004 Suzuki GSXR World Cup to be held at Road Atlanta, USA.
