John Reynolds will be riding in the double race seventh round of the THINK!

British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch despite breaking his left

collarbone two weeks ago - the series leader put in 33 laps during Friday's

free practice session and was well on the pace.

The Rizla Suzuki rider admitted to: "being a bit sore and a bit awkward on

the bike" but he still managed to put in a best time of 1m 27.870s around

the 2.608 mile Kent grand prix circuit, at an average speed of 106.85mph.

Reynolds, twice the former champion will be racing on in a damage

limitation exercise: "I will be going all out to score as many points as

possible and make the best of the situation - it is not going to be easy,

but I am up for it."

Meanwhile, his team-mate Yukio Kagayama, also recovering from the broken

right collarbone which prevented him from riding in the previous round at

Thruxton set a scorching pace at the top of the leaderboard, putting in a

lap of 1m 26.825s, an average speed of 108.14mph.

The Japanese rider is playing catch-up in the points, having slipped to

fourth place in the overall standings, and is keen to add to his winning

pedigree - that will put the pressure not just on Reynolds, but also

Michael Rutter, currently second in the standings and just eight points

down.

The Honda rider, three times a winner so far this season, put in a

competitive lap of 1m 27.272s, but found himself sixth fastest, even so,

Rutter is "feeling positive about these races."

Sean Emmett, riding the MonsterMob Ducati, and the winner last time out,

turned on the speed in the second session to close within 0.022s of

Kagayama, while Superbike Cup rider John Kirkham was third best aboard his

Suzuki with a time of 1m 27.037s.

Noriyuki Haga, the Renegade Ducati rider who last week took a victory and a

second place in the World SUperbike races at Silverstone, was eighth

fastest, just, from John McGuinness, the six times Isle of Man TT race

winner who is making his seasonal debut into the series, riding for Hawk

Kawasaki in place on their injured rider Glen Richards.

Scott Smart aboard the other Hawk bike, and third in the rankings, was

eleventh fastest with a lap of 1m 28.828s, adrift of Leon Haslam.
