Teams may now formally register their intentions for the 2005 British Superbike Championship/British Superbike Cup, as MCRCB Events have today opened the pre-registration period for the 2005 Championships. Teams have until Novermber 30th to register their intentions.
There is also a new competition in the Supersport category.
2005 British Supersport Privateers Cup*
MCRCB EVENTS are pleased to announce the
2005 British Supersport Privateers Cup
. As the equipment standards and levels of competition and costs have risen in the category we have identified the need to promote a subsidiary series to run alongside the flagship
British Supersport Championship
. The series is designed to both recognise the achievements of the genuine privateer and to stimulate new participation in the Championship. The technical platform for the
2005 British Supersport Privateers Cup
will be the MCRCB/FIM Supersport regulations.
The
2005 British Supersport Privateers Cup
will run at
all BSB 2005
events, although to help participation budgets the best 10 events results will count towards the overall Championship results, allowing riders and teams to miss-out the events where due to their location they represent the biggest commitment in terms of time and costs. There will be a separate podium ceremony after each race for the first three finishers in the
2005 British Supersport Privateers Cup
. Points will be scored on the traditional format; 25-20 etc. Supersport Privateer Cup teams will be identified by sporting a front yellow number plate.
Eligibility:
The competition is designed to encourage new participation into the British Supersport Championship, and accordingly riders who have scored more than five points in the 2004 British Supersport Championship will not be eligible for the British Supersport Cup. The organisers will also determine by the riders known ability their eligibility for the Supersport Cup, which is aimed at riders moving into category from other competitions.
