In 2005 Naturally Best, then better known as Vilvaldi Racing launched the Vilvaldi Racing Trust Fund (VRTF). The VRTF was the brainchild of company and team principal Tony Galeotalanza and was one example of his considerable support for the improvement of motorcycle racing. The fund was popularly supported through many different initiatives.
At the start of 2006 Naturally Best approached MCRCB Events Limited, BSB series organisers to discuss a future direction for the VRTF. What was apparent is that is was going to be very difficult to design a mechanism where funds could be distributed fairly and equitably and by who.
Some considerable time has now passed and both MCRCB Events Limited and Naturally Best wish to ensure that the proceeds of the fund are directed in the most efficient and worthy manner.
Accordingly and after gauging opinion from members of the BSB community, it has been decided to transfer the funds held in their entirety to the Chris Jones Riders' Fund. The CJRF has in its short period since inception become THE charity of BSB. Its sole aim is to fund projects for the direct benefit of the British and National Championship participants.
Already a digital XRAY machine worth £100,000 is in operation at each BSB event and new projects funding the advancement of safety and medical care are in progress. Of course the recent tragic fatal accident to Guy Sanders reminds us that the sport will always carry inherent risk and this is a never ending process.
Both Naturally Best and MCRCB Events Limited are deeply indebted to all those who have contributed to the fund.
At Oulton Park on Sunday July 15th Mr Peter Sutton of Naturally Best and Stuart Higgs, MCRCB Events Limited BSB Series Director presented a cheque for £35,000 to Mrs Pam Jones in the presence of Mr, Derek Martin and Mr. Derek Sanders.
Ends.
